How to call methods not returning recordsets on PB NVO stored in Jaguar?
I developed an object in PB7 and succesfully deployed it to Jaguar.
Now, I need to call it's methods from dynamo scripts. What calling method
should I use?
What naming convention should I use for overwritten PB functions (in Jaguar
manager they have some additional suffixes)?
Thanks for any help.

One way is to access the components via a java stub. Once the component
exists in Jaguar, you can generate the java stubs in jag manager. The you
need to compile them in order to access them. Check out one of my articles
in the link below about building a web datawindow component. While you
don't need to return a result set, the article shows how to generate and
compile the stubs.

Thanks for help.
I've passed all the steps described in your article "Building A Web
DataWindow Component", but for all my components I'm receiving errror like
this:

Exception thrown: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException:
Articles/WebDW_ComponentHelper in method loadClass of class
DynamoClassLoader. Unable to find class:
Articles/WebDW_ComponentHelperUnable to narrow the component to the required
interface: "Articles/WebDW_ComponentHelper".

I generated stubs for component in %JAGUAR%\html\classes\Articles directory.
Compilation was OK.
What's wrong?
Only component I'm able to "create" from DynaScript is
"DataWindow/HTMLGenerator".
I have dynamo set up on one machine and Jaguar running on separate server.

Jacek

Jacek,

Since you have Jaguar and PowerDynamo installed on separate machines, you
need to move the stubs to the PowerDynamo machine. PowerDynamo is a client
to Jaguar and the stubs need to be installed on the client machine.

You can place the stubs in any directory you choose on the Dynamo machine;
just make sure the CLASSPATH includes this directory. A good place might be
the class03 directory under your PowerDynamo installation, as this should
already be part of your classpath.

Thanks!
It started working.
In details, I created on dynamo machine folder "c:\myclasses". Inside it I
created folder "Articles" and copied all stubs into it. In CLASSPATH I added
reference to "c:\myclasses" only. Then I'm able to add another subfolders
with stubs from other packages without restarting dynamo machine.

Thanks a lot.
Do I need full PowerJ installation to compile those stubs?
I did'nt planned to use PowerJ. Is it possible to use any command line based
Java compiler to perform this task?

Jacek

No, you don't need the full PowerJ installation. Yes, you can use any
command line based Java compiler.
