In EJB

1) You do a lookup() which returns a home interface. Its like a factory
2) You call a create() method on the home interface to get a remote
interface. The remote interface is like your stub.

Hello Throstur,

This is taken from the Online documentation at http://www.javasoft.com

"An Enterprise Bean's home interface defines the methods that allow a
client to create, find, and remove
EJB objects"

"An Enterprise Bean's remote interface defines the business methods
callable by a client"

Regards,

Ryan Lubke

I just wanted to add that since Jaguar 3.5, non-EJB components can have home
interfaces as well. In fact you can create PowerBuilder components that behave
just like EJB session/entity beans if you like.
