Hi, there

We're going to build an 3-tier application using EAServer 3.5, and the client
will be either PowerJ or PowerBuilder, but they must be running on web brwosers.
The database is Informix 7.x and Redbrick data wharehausing. The architecture
will be 3-tier web Intranet.

I don't think there is JDBC driver supported by Redbrick. Do we have to use
JDBC in 3-tier architeture web application (applet)? In my opinon, ODBC should
work as well because we only need database connection (ODBC) from Jaguar to
database (Informix and Redbrick), the web client only need connections to Jaguar
or PowerDynamo. Could somebody help me figure out what exactly we should use in
our architecture?

Thanks

Stephen

You are on the right track. If the clients are browsers, they have no
connection to the database, Jaguar and PD will connect to the database, so
ODBC should be fine.

Hi, Larry
Thanks for your information, but is there any tutorial about distributed
application using PowerJ 3.5 (datawindow), Jaguar 3.5, ODBC etc. There is no
3-tier application using datawindow in Getting Started in PJ 3.5.

Thanks

Stephen

Check out the SurfSideVideo examples which come with EAStudio!

You might want to take a look at e-map for Powerbuilder:
