This is embarassing but has anyone been able to get PD to call the
SVU/SVUEnrollment class using java.CreateComponent method out of the box
(PJ3.5)?

I keep getting a

Error Messages: Exception thrown: org.omg.CORBA.OBJECT_NOT_EXIST: in method
CreateComponent of class jagcomp. Unable to find or create the required
component with the given parameters: "SVU/SVUEnrollment
iiop://localhost:9000 jagadmin *****". near line 17

My PD call is

comp = java.CreateComponent( "SVU/SVUEnrollment",
"iiop://localhost:9000", "jagadmin", "");
if (comp == null)
document.writeln( "Error Messages: " + site.GetErrorInfo())
else
document.Write("Comp is not null!");

The Jag log says
Feb 15 02:32:45 2000: Exception 'CosNaming::NamingContext::NotFound' in
Session::lookup for component 'SVU/SVUEnrollment'
Feb 15 02:32:45 2000: SystemException: OBJECT_NOT_EXIST (Session/lookup -
@127.0.0.1)

Dave,
Version is 3.5, I presume that is what was shipped with PJ3.5.

It appears to not be on the server. Did you check Jaguar Manager?
Did you ensure that the package is registered with your logical
server? Make sure the SVU package is within Servers/Jaguar/Installed
Packages.

Ahh 3.5. Its all EJB now. Change the code to

home = java.GetHomeInterface("SVUEnrollment");
remote = home.create();

Is this better?
