Hi I have a problem when i connect to the Remedy Database. The actual
name's table came up like weird name. The table's name is like H12, T 30
then the fields in each tables like c1, c2 , c3.....
Do you think i could be able to rename those tables and fields names to
whatever i create, so the users can look at easily to create the reports??

Thanks again
pete

Sounds like you have a strange ODBC driver. It doesn't recognize the table
structure, so it considers all the columns to be computed fields. (I
remember that we used to have that problem with a certain Btrieve driver).
In the database painter you can add for each table and columns: headers,
labels and comments to make the names more descriptive. The comments are
visible in the sql painter. The headers and labels are automatically used
on reports and forms.

Thanks Terry for the pointer.

I am doing evaluation for this product and compare the Crystal Report and
Impromtu. Have you ever experienced those products yet? I believed that
Infomaker is pretty easy to use, but might be difficult to handle when
creating the complex report. When running the reports, its running by
Server or Client (local PC)

Any suggestion??

Terry, I have a Sqlany5.5 Database and use Crystal reports I also have
infomaker but Rarely used It I just started and I would have to say that
Crystal is much easier to use and Would probably do better on the reporting
side. Infomaker allows data manipulation probably better. But If you are
going for the look on the reports I would probably suggest Crystal. Good
luck

I've never used Crystal Reports, but one of our consultants, who has
experience with Oracle Report Writer, Crystal Reports and Infomaker swears
by Infomaker. And he is not a Powerbuilder user, but a big-time VB
developer.
