Hello,

Does Infomaker support Informix's synonyms? In Informix, we can set up a
synonym as an alias name of a table in a different Informix database. That
is the easiest way to retrieve data across databases in Informix. However,
in Infomaker (we use version 5.0), the synonyms do not show up in the table
list. The Infomaker users do not have a way to click and choose those
tables that are using synonyms. We cannot find 'synonym' from the index
pages at the back of the Infomaker manual. Could it be Infomaker do
support it but call it something else?

We are aware there is a data pipeline option but that may be too
complicated for our users. So if you confirm that synonyms are not
supported by Infomaker, could you suggest an alternative other than
pipeline?

We appreciate very much your input on this subject matter. Thank you.

I believe both Oracle and Informix are fixed in the latest drivers for
5.0.04. See the technical bulletin but I think both have been
addressed.:

Peter,

Unfortunely, I don't have an answer to your question, but would like to
add that we have the same problem with our Oracle 7.3 database. We have
tried passing a parameter to the database during the connection (this
solution came from the online documentation for Oracle databases), but we
were still unable to view the synonyms in the list of tables. I have
heard rumors that this a bug in Infomaker & Powerbuilder. If anybody has
solution, I would love to hear it.
