We have saved IM Reports as HTML for web publishing, but they don't look
good at all without a lot of extra work.
Has anybody figured out a way to publish a Report on the web that looks
like the executed report in InfoMaker?
For example, it would be great to create a PDF file of a Report, but no
such luck as far as we can see.
Any ideas? It doesn't appear as if this is of high concern to Sybase...

Actually, you can view psr files in your browser. You need to copy the file
npdwe60.dll into the plugins directory of your browser. If you can't find
the dll, look in the directory plug-in on the IM CD.
On the server side you need to create a simple html page, and configure your
webserver. See the online documentation 'Building Internet Applications
with Powerbuilder', chapter 8 for more details. I haven't tested this part
myself yet, so I can't help you too much in this area.

I did some more research. In my computer you can associate an extension
with a specific program. When you have IM installed, the default will be to
open it with IM. You can change that to open with iexplorer.exe (Internet
Explorer). Specify the MIME type to be application/datawindow. Now when
you double-click the psr file, it will open in IE. So all that is required
is to have the npdwe60.dll in the plugins directory.
Associating the MIME type on the webserver will allow you to use the
webserver to serve up all the psr files. This of course is nicer when you
want to deploy on your Intranet.

I've tried using the npdwe60.dll plug-in to view .psr files in Netscape
Communicator (v4.02), but when I close the browser it causes an application
error. According to the information in the release notes for InfoMaker 6.0 this
is a known problem (ref. 483496), but I have not been able to find a remedy.

Has anyone else experienced this problem, and is there a known solution (a new
version of the .dll, perhaps)?

I'd appreciate any help regarding this matter.

Thanks,

Andy Johnston
