Okay, I have now upgraded to version 5.0, and while I DO think it is a
sweet program and much improved over ver 4.0, I am still having a few of
the same problems. I am happy to report though, resource problems are
all gone!

The most pressing and most critical problem I am stil having, and I do
sincerely hope someone can give me some insights at their earliest
possible convenience <hint hint>, is as follows:

I have a composite report comprised of appx. 15 other reports and I have
1 group defined. In the Trailer Group band I have the following:

text field column
text field
text field computed field
computed field

I then have the band pulled up as tightly as possible against this, the
summary band is empty, and I have 3 text fields aligned horizontally in
the footer band. The 2 computed fields are retrieval arguments and the
person running the report enters in the appropriate information for that
specific run.

Sometimes that information appears in the completed report, but the
majority of the time it does not. It doesn't seem to matter the amount
of data retrieved in the nested reports, sometimes short reports contain
the trailer band info, sometimes they don't.. ditto for really long
reports. The majority of the time when the info is not there, it's just
completely not there, however there are times when you see about 1/2 of
the height of the first row I indicated above (text field followed by a
horizontally aligned columm field), and then nothing below that.

This is causing me tremendous problems.. ANY help would be welcome and
greatly appreciated!!

Thanks!

We solved several problems with painting bands other than details -
mostly with nests in group trailers, etc. Definitely make sure your
Detail band is closed up completely before preview and see if that makes
a difference.

I assume you're running 5.0.02 at least...

Try downloading 36426_16.zip (16 bit) or 36426_32.zip (32 bit). These
DLLs do painting (PBDWD050.DLL). See if that helps. If it works, I
believe it's narrowed down.

Stephen,

I downloaded 36426_32.zip and put the file PBDWD050.DLL in the directory
where the file I was replacing was, which is \Program Files\Common
Files\Powersoft Shared and when I attempted to start InfoMaker, I
received this error message:

"The PBDWD050.DLL is linked to missing export PBSHR050:773."

InfoMaker would not start. Now what?

Thanks!
Kathy

There are DLL dependancies. Try downloading again. I only updated the
32 bit version... SHR and DWE included.

One thing I have noticed when just about any field is pushed up against
the "band" or the fields touch or overlap each other, the fileds don't
display data.

Good Luck!!
