I am attempting to design a data pipeline between Visual FoxPro and
SQL Anywhere 5.5.03. The SQL Anywhere server, called SQLA, is running
2 databases, let's call them DATA and DATA2. DATA has tables and data,
while DATA2 is empty.

If I configure 2 ODBC entries, both set to the same server, but
pointing to the different databases I have a problem. The pipeline
works fine if moving data from FoxPro to DATA. But if the pipeline is
configured from FoxPro to DATA2, the following error occurs:

"...Table or view already exists: item 'ssn' already exists."

Since database DATA2 has no tables in it, and is thus empty, it
appears as though the SQL Anywhere ODBC driver is using the first
database on the server, regardless of what it is configured to use.

Is my assumption correct? Is there a workaround, besides changing the
way the server is run?

In the ODBC configuration, make sure that you fill in the "Database
Name" field, specifying different values for the two databases. This
is different from the file spec.
