I am forwarding a customer's request to this alias:
1) Is this the appropriate alias for his predicament?
2) Will someone respond to him directly (and cc me)?
"I have tried to look up how to use our copy of InfoMaker (registered
to DIGITEL), to extract data from a databse that has rcently been split
up. It now has data in 2 locations. The original location still contains
a sub-set of the original data, and the reference tables. The reference
tables are now referred to by synonyms. Consequently, my original
queries are not able to extract the required report data. I could not
find any reference to this on you Web ref. sites.
Can you please help me find out where to look this up? Our user guide
and manual doesn't seem to cover the issue.

Infomaker doesn't directly support running against 2 different databases at
the same time. However, most databases have internal commands that will
allow this. For instance, with Oracle you define a database link, which
allows you to query a remote table as if it was on the local database.
Using this facility, IM can query both database at the same time.
