Hi!

I have a 'client' file that I want to print labels for. The report
right now is printing all clients on file. I have three(3) columns that
I want to select on: 'search', 'paying', 'misc'. The user will decide
which combination of the three to use. May want search='y' , or no
search criteria at all. I understand I need to have the user input
those three arguments(Y/N - if they are to be queried). But cannot
figure out how to then develop an expression to select.

Jim

The easiest is to use the 'prompt for criteria' on the report itself.

Alternatively, you can create 3 retrieval arguments with LIKE statements:
SELECT * FROM A
WHERE A.X like ':arg1'
AND A.Y like ':arg2'
AND A.Z like ':arg3'
The user will have to put in a % (percent) for those arguments that are
not required.
