I feel that I might have not been very clear in explaining my problem
last week, so I will try to better describe what I am trying to do, and
what problem I am encountering:

I am attempting to migrate a MS Access 95 database to Sybase SQL
Anywhere 5.5.03 Build #1666.

I modeled the SQL database using the PowerDesigner that comes with ASE
NT 11.5. I executed the creation script without any problems, and the
resulting database appears to be correct.

My problem now is that I am unable import data from the MS Access
tables. I am trying to accomplish this with the Data Pipeline utility
that comes with Infomaker 5.0.03. Specifically, the problem I am
encountering is is described by the following error message that I get
when I try to execute the Data Pipeline:

"SQLSTATE = S1000 [INTERSOLV][ODBC SQL Server driver][SQL
Server]Explicit value specified for identity field in table
'<Tablename>' when IDENTITY_INSERT is set to OFF"

In several of the SQL tables, the PK field is an IDENTITY (or
"AUTONUMBER" in Access counterpart). I must preserve this data. I set
the IDENTITY_INSERT attribute to ON with the SQL Advantage editor, after
which I was able to manually insert records with explicit identity field
data. However, when I tried to execute the Data Pipeline, I received
the same error.

Any suggestions how I can import this data?

TIA,
SQL Rookie

You should be using the SQL Anywhere ODBC driver wod50t.dll not the
intersolv SQL Server driver

I fumbled when I said: " am attempting to migrate a MS Access 95 database to
Sybase SQL Anywhere 5.5.03 Build #1666."

I am actually using Adaptive Server Enterprise for NT version 11.5, which
seems to require use of the Sybase System 11 driver SYSYBNT.DLL

What are differences in these two [i am guessing] distinct database engines?
I want to use the more powerful one.

Thanks for your response.
