I need help in finding a solution to running scheduled reports in
PowerBuilder and /or InfoMaker in Windows 95. Does anyone have any
experience/advice on making this happen in your environment? Or do you
know of any 3rd Party Tools that would help? (We're running
PowerBuilder against Oracle 7.3.)

Thanks for your help!

I wrote a PB application that will run any report passed to it as command
line argument, with optional retrieval arguments. Using the Windows NT
scheduler (AT, crond,..) you can schedule the reports to be run at any time.
It works with Oracle. I use PBDs, but you can also use EXEs created with
IM. This gives your endusers more control, if they are allowed to create IM
EXEs.
If you want to have the code, I'll dig it up.

Hi Terry,

I would like a set of the code, pgms, etc for scheduling reports.
I am currently using Macro Mania 5.0.
Crytal Reports won't do the job because of a lack of pass thru joins,
difficult screens, and no easy passed data parmaters.
Currently MM5 runs our weekly reports and prints to PDF files at night and
the weekend but we run into network and system maint. time. I have PB5.04
WebPB running but the lack of html formating restricts it to just real time
infomation questions.
I would really like Sybase to get a (Crytal Info) type report server going.
It would be a leap into the future of Windows Based Reports and Printing.

thank you,
darwin.h.web@tek.com

I would love the capability of running IM reports on the server. I'm
experimenting with IM 6 / PB6 to see if this is possible using Distributed
PB.

Hi Terry,

I got the e-mial about the scheduling code, pgm as a scrambled mess.
Is this a goof or is this some unix uuc stuff.
What do I do with it.

The first line says "begin 600 batch_rep.ZIP"
then about 4 pages of IUY%F^(&^%_(*GIT)&*
then last line "end"

And what do you mean here is the problem? II was expecting a solution.:>)

Oops, that should have said: Here is the program.
The enclosed file is a pkzip file, batch_rep.zip. It contains a
Powerbuilder pbl and 2 text files.
