We plan to use Infomaker to develop some reports for our users. I would
also like to consider Infomaker (read-only) as an ad-hoc tool for
several power-users in the business area. Our database (ASA6.0)
consists of about 110 tables. I would imagine we will create some views
to simplify selection. Does anyone have any experience or comments on
successful use of IM in the business areas that they could share?
Thanks in advance,
Becky

We have 4 powerusers that use IM, one of which has the update capability.
We didn't create any views, since we have extensive documentation on all the
tables in our databases. You will need to provide some training so the
users understand the structure of the database.
I set the query governor to limit the number of rows, tables to be joined
and runtime.
Using views is nice, since you can then specify the DBParm Tablecriteria to
show only views. The user won't see tables, synonyms etc.
Executables are deployed on the network. 3 people (including myself) can
put executables on the network. Everyone in our company has a standard
folder with shortcuts to the different reports. It is working very well.
