We need to use Infomaker to write reports for an application on an
Oracle 8.0 server, with clients on Oracle 7.3. Previously, our only
server was Sybase 11 and our old Infomaker (version 5.0.02) worked
fine. What steps do we need to take to accomplish this? The Infomaker
manuals don't show any support for Oracle past version 7.2. If
upgrading to version 6.x is the answer, will our old "Sybase" reports
still work?

IM 5.0.04 supports sqlnet 2.3 and has a beta driver for Oracle 8, to be used
with net8.
You can download 5.0.04 from
http://support.sybase.com/esd/pb_win_maint_5004.html
Going to IM6.5 is no problem at all. It will automatically convert all your
reports.
If you've converted some of your reports sql syntax mode, you might run into
problems with different dialects between Sybase and Oracle. If you used
stored procedures, you will need to rewrite those for Oracle.
