I was looking to find out if it is possible to have InfoMaker (v6.0) to
print according to the old WYSIWYG principle (What You See Is What You
Get). I run reports which may have as many as 100 or so lines of detail
collapsed. When you export the information, say to an Excel
spreadsheet, you get the detail, and if I'm correct, you don't get the
summary band information which is what I'm looking for.

Any ideas???

SaveRowsAs HTML is your best bet.
If you have PB6, you can write your own functions for IM6. PB has the
SaveAsAscii() function, which is sadly missing in IM. I wrote an OLE
interface to Excel. It is painfully slow, but it does recognize bands,
computed fields etc. If you're interested, I can send you a modified
imstyle6.pbl that has these functions.

And it definitely is not perfect!

Terry

I would love to have and will even pay you for that interface. I save my
reports to excel alot using HTML but when the report is complex or large
IM6.5 crashes. It would be a life saver. Also do you know of any new
features that may be in IM 7.0 worth upgrading

Thanks
CFJ

I'll send you the code. But I warn you, it is painfully slow. It also
doesn't handle nested or compiste reports. And I don't care about bolding,
underlining etc.

Terry,

I never received the PB file to save IM reports to excel. I could really
use something like that. Hope its not to much trouble. Is there some other
place I could download it if you busy.
Thanks
Christopher
