Hi there,

I would like to ask all of you if you know a way to run a report , save
it as a powersoft report and print it from a batch file.

If this is not possible, can you please tell me if it's possible to
print an existing powersoft report from a batch file.

Thanks in advance.
Marcel Winters

You'll need a PB application to do this. If you have PB, I'll gladly send
you the code for a batch reporting program we use.
There is an upgraded imstyle6.pbl available, that allows you to run
executables and passing it a report name to run automatically. I'm not sure
if it supports the printing as an option. It's available at:
ftp://ftp.powersoft.com/pub/private/pbpatch/im6.0_fixes/imstyle6.zip

The 'improved' IMSTYLE6.PBL will create an exe that you can query runtime options
using /? with.

IE, run the exe from the DOS command line and you'll see what I mean.

test.exe /?

It will give you a messagebox showing you several options.

InfoMaker commandline syntax:

exename /switch <objectname>

where
/r report_name (Run report)
/rp report_name (Run report and print)
/rpc report_name (Run report, print, close app)
/p pipeline_name (Run pipeline)
/f form_name (Run form)
/? (Help)

Ex: tutorial.exe /r customer_list

I did these options since customers asked me specifically for these. I haven't
retrofitting this to 7.0 but it would be pretty easy. The code is in one
function.
