I'll admit I don't know a ton about Imagemaker 5.0...I need some help.

I need to output a field in the report that does the following:

1. Uses/takes a value of varying length from a database.
2. Adds the number of each individual number in the filed together (I.E. if
the number was 23456, then it would figure 2+3+4+5+6=20)
3. Outputs the revised number (I.E. "20").

Is there any way to do this in a IM5 report?

Thanks,

Arch Willingham

Not in IM directly. You need PB to create a fucntion to do that. I've
enclosed a pbl that has a fucntion called parse_add(). You must add this
pbl in the environment painter to the Library Search path (select the
options icon on the toolbar). To use it in your IM report, you create a
computed field:
parse_add(your_1234_column). It will return the value of the individual
numbers added together. You must send a string to the function.
