Infomaker runs as a client only.
Infomaker has really 3 components: reporting, simple data entry screen
builder and a data pipeline, allowing you to move data between any two
Generally speaking you cannot access different database at the same time to
produce one report.
Depending on your needs, complex reports might be easy. A lot is dependent
on understanding your underlying database structure. Nested and composite
reports give you a lot of flexibility, allowing you to do things you could
never do in SQL.
IM is a subset of Powerbuilder, so you can always move reports etc to PB and
then do some more complicated reporting. You can also use PB to modify the
class library (imstyle6.pbl) that comes with IM and thus give IM
capabilities it doesn't have out of the box. I've used this to build
drilldown screens, add mail functionality, better save report functions etc.
