I'm successfully running a network install of IM6.0 now. My problem is that
everyone is hitting the same im.ini file which resides in the IM6 directory.
For security reasons, I need each user to have his/her own im.ini (because
of different Database Profiles and such). How can I tell the program to
look for the im.ini in a specific location other than the IM6 directory?

In IM 5.0 You could change the ini file to point to another directory. I
haven't tried it with 6.0.

[InfoMaker]
INITPATH050=drive:directory

where drive:directory is the drive and directory containing the
initialization files on your PC.
For example, if your IM.INI and IM.PBT files are in the directory
c:\imfiles, you would specify the following in your WIN.INI file:

[InfoMaker]
If your initialization files are not in your InfoMaker directory, you need
to tell InfoMaker where it can find your initialization files
INITPATH050=c:\imfiles

How InfoMaker finds your initialization files
When InfoMaker Version 5.0 starts up, it looks first for a definition of
INITPATH050 (case sensitive) in the [InfoMaker] section of WIN.INI for
where to find your initialization files. If INITPATH050 is not defined,
InfoMaker looks for a definition of INITPATH in the [InfoMaker] section of
WIN.INI (this is for compatibility with previous products, which look first
for the INITPATH variable). If neither variable is defined, InfoMaker uses
the IM.INI and IM.PBT files in the InfoMaker directory. If they do not
exist, InfoMaker creates new ones with default specifications.

From Document ID 47702, Installing PowerBuilder 6.0 On A Network:

"Step 4: Move the PB.INI to everyone's local machine:

In order for each user to have their own PB.INI file the following setting
would need to be changed. Run PowerBuilder and in the application painter
select the menu item "FILE". Under that item is the item "PowerPanel". This
will bring up a dialog box listing all the painters. Select "SystemOptions"
near the bottom of the list. Under the "GENERAL" tab, change the
initialization path to point to a directory common to everyone's computer.
Such as "c:\" or "c:\windows".

You do not need to copy the PB.INI file to everyone's local machine since
PowerBuilder, by default, will create one in the directory you specified if
one is not found"

C'mon, Terry - this is you job. :)
