I'm working on a report in InfoMaker 5 and want to have a trailing minus
sign on negative dollar amounts (Ex. $123.45-). When I try using
$#,##0.00;$#,##0.00- as the format, I get a "Bad character in format"
message. If I change it to have a leading minus sign, $#,##0.00;-$#,##0.00
it accepts the format.

What I finally came up with is

if(sum(open_amount for group 3)>=0,string(sum(open_amount for group
3),"$#,##0.00"), string(sum(open_amount for group 3),"$#,##0.00;$#,##0.00")
+ '-')
OR
string(sum(open_amount for group 3),"$#,##0.00 ;$#,##0.00") +
if(sum(open_amount for group 3)<0,'-','')

Does anyone happen to know of a simpler way to do this? Thanks.

Hello,
Try the following and it should work:
$#,##0.00;$#,##0.00'-'
