Is there a way to not actually run a sub-report for every row in the parent
report? I have about 20 sub reports in a main report and only one should
be visible for each row in the parent.

Right now I just pass dummy parameters which would not select any rows in
the sub-report , but it still runs the SQL statement.

Thanx in advance.

Your method is the only one available. I use the same technique.
