I am attempting to create a few executable report files from Infomaker 6.0.
The reports need to access a MSSQL Server 6.5 database. From within the IM
program there are no difficulties. When I try running the executable files I
am prompted to enter a database user ID. I have tried entering sa as the ID
and there is no response. Is there any way to bypass this screen, or is
there something glaring that I am forgetting?

When using native drivers, IM will always prompt for the userid/password.
If you use ODBC, it will not prompt. I've requested this as an enhancement
request to Sybase, to let the developer determine whether he wants to prompt
the user. Send Sybase your request as well. IM7 is not yet in beta, so it
might be incorporated.

But how do you get a valid connection to the server when it doesn't use this
userid?

With ODBC you can hardcode the userid/password in the connect string.

Oracle (and I assume other database do too) has a feature called remote
operating system authentication, which basically means that if your
operating system userid matches the Oracle userid, Oracle will not prompt
for a password. IM supports this (meaning I can leave the userid and
password blank), but I still get the annoying prompt from IM.
