I have to rename one of the sybase servers we have. I am having all
kinds of trouble. I tried the document from sybase about renaming a
server on NT, and that didn't work. I also tried copying everything in
the sybase directory to another directory and reinstalling sybase with
the new name and then copying everything back over ( which a sybase
support person told me to do) and that didn't work. When I click on
start sql server in service manager it says it is starting then about 10
seconds later it says server stopped. I have no idea what to do next.
I am trying to rename a sybase 11 server on a windows NT 4.0 box.

Any help will be very appreciated

1) modify the sql.ini and change name (be careful)
2) rename the RUN file to the new name
3) modify the sql.ini and change the '-S' parameter
4) use 'sp_dropserver' and 'sp_addserver' to change the local Server name.
