I'm building an app where I'd like the admin people to be able to
modify and perhaps create new data windows on the fly (and perhaps add
tables as well) and incorporate them into the app. I've seen the
rudimentary dw painter provided in the sample code, does anyone think
that code could be extended enough that I would have a full function
DW painter?

It seems like it could but I don't want to start down the path only to
find there is some major gotcha out there. Thoughts?

Thanks,

Shawn

Thought about that except I want my product to sell for the same or
less than Infomaker does. I could have them use Infomaker for a more
sophisticated solution but I need to have provide some built in
functionality.

Contact Sybase management and tell them you want the ability to embed the DW
Painter in your application. If enough people ask for it, they just might do
it.

The syntax behind a DW is well documented (and you can try something in the
painter and then look at the source to see what results), so the only limit
is the amount of work you are willing to put in. But what was that about
reinventing the wheel?
You might also talk to Sybase marketing about an OEM deal on IM.

Good thought about OEM I'll look into it. Thanks!
