I am having the same experience. NT 4, Sybase 11.0.3.2, open-client 10.0.4
(ebf7704)... Sybase quits running... usually no error messages... sybase
or nt events. But once in a while I have an error The
Sybase_MONServer_LNCF05_MS service terminated with service specific error
4294967295. However the problem only exists (so it seems) when monitor
server is running also. My error logs are small. If I don't run monitor
server, sqlserver stays put... I hate to rollback... and to where?

Hi Larry,

Your options are:
1. not to run Monitor Server for now
Now that may not be an option for you. But you have other options:
2. Apply 7941: this is a OneOff that addresses exactly this problem
You need to discuss with Tech Support to get it.
3. Wait for 11.0.3.3

Hope one of them is an option for you.

we've experienced the same problem with 11.03.2 and NT. During some of the
occurrences I've noticed one of the NT event logs had run out of space due
to the repeated log of a minor warning message. Nothing was added to the
event log or the Sybase error log regarding the reason for the abrupt
shutdown. To date the only correlation I have is the full NT event log and
Sybase shutting down.
