G'Day,
We have a Sybase SQL server 10.0.2.6 , running on Windows NT 3.51 SP4 ,
and yes we are moving to 11.5 in eight weeks, but for the last two days
the server has become unaccessible. We have a 4 processor computer and
when I look at the performance monitor, 1 is at 100% and the other 3 are
less than 10% ? When you try to access the server using isql , it
timesout ? I have been through the tech support section of the Sybase
Site but can not see anything that is relevant to this. Any suggestions
would be greatly appreciated. The server is set to use 3 online engines.

Hi Mark,

We fixed something like this recently on NT where the server could
become unresponsive under conditions of high network load when some of
the network i/o's were getting lost. This would tie in if your 100% cpu
is the one handling the network. The latest versions of system 11 (and
11.5.1) should have the fix included (if it is this problem!)

cheers,
tonyi
