The user can not get the IDENTITY value of a tabel after insert a new
record by @@identity.
But this function is very important for programmer who use OOP.

I do recall that there was a bug in early 10.x where the @@identity
value was not set in some cases. That should not, however, be a problem
in the final 10.x rollup. Sybase is no longer supporting 10.x,
but you should still be able to get a copy of the most recent rollup.
It would be far better, however, to upgrade to 11.x.
