1) Where can I find informations of using PB9 as a Client to JBOSS.
2) We used MTS/COM+ with PB8 and created a customer html DataWindow
component
Is there a way to "transfer/deploy" this to a EJB version for JBOSS
3) We need a EJB DataWindow Component !!! because we want to use
"Open Sources" like Apache/JBOSS/Tomcat/JSP's
(in the past we used IIS/COM+/ASP's)

TIA

>1) Where can I find informations of using PB9 as a Client to JBOSS.

Take a look at the documentation and online help files that come with
PB 9. Specifically the EJB client support section. You will need to
know how a Java client connects to JBoss to know what settings you
need in PB, but that shouldn't be too difficult.

Not yet. Sybase is looking at providing this support or leaving it to
third parties to implement using PBNI and JNI. Take a look at
http://www.sunlly.com/nk/html/ to see what I mean.

Well your choices are either get PowerJ and use the Java DataWindow
(PowerJ has been end of lifed). Wait for the Sunlly solution (Beta is
supposed to start next month), or write your own.

I understand your desire to go "Open Source", but you must realize
that commercial software companies want to focus their efforts on
customers who are willing to pay for software.

Dave,

Thank you for continuing to post and educate us. You did say one thing in
your previous post that has me a bit concerned:

"I understand your desire to go "Open Source", but you must realize that
commercial software companies want to focus their efforts on customers who
are willing to pay for software. "

This statement is implying to me that Sybase as a company is going to try
to force anyone that has existing PB applications that may want to be
ported to 3-tier architectures must use EAServer. It seems to me that this
closed environment approach will force IT managers to completely eliminate
PB from their shops rather than entice IT managers to buy EAServer. From
my point of view, I'd love to expand my PB using, rather than eliminate it.
It's very easy to use and very quick to develop. I don't want to go away,
but it seems like Sybase is trying to force me in that direction. Am I
completely wrong here (I'm still trying to learn).

Thanks,
Slugme

This really doesn't have much if anything to do with PowerBuilder from
what I can tell. What are you using at the JSP engine? It appears
that there may be a configuration or classpath issue there:

java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: sun/tools/javac/Main

Answer your question 1 for your quick reference

JBOSS setting information:

Initial context:
org.jnp.interfaces.NamingContextFactory
URL format:
jnp://localhost:1099
Supporting classes are located in the client subdirectory of the J2EE server
installation and include as a minimum
jnp-client.jar , jboss-client.jar , jnet.jar , jboss-j2ee.jar
