Are there any limitations if accessing EJBs on non EA Server App Servers?

Any forward engineering from PB Datastores to EJB on any App Servers?

You can access the EJBs that are hosted in J2EE compliant Server in PB 9,
such as BEA weblogic server, IBM Websphere Server, Sun iPlanet Application
Server, JBoss Server, Oracle 9i Application Server... And Sybase EAServer is
included too.

Deploying PB NVOs as EJBs to other Application Server is considered. So like
PB Datastore will be wrapped as EJBs to be access.

You can access EJBs on J2EE servers besides EAServer.

Support for deploying NVOs as EJBs to 3rd party application servers is
being planned. Right now you can only access them through EAServer
using EASI.

Dave;

You said deploying NVOs as EJBs to 3rd party application servers is being
planned. Do you know anytime table? Another year may be?
My company have a few PB applications, and we have Bea as our application
server. We do a lot of web application using Java but when PB NVos can
deploy as EJBs we plan to move our PB application to the web as well.
Thanks

Jim

The EJB client support works the same way for EAServer as it does for
any 3rd party app server, but to answer the question...

One limitation that is being addressed shortly is that public class
variables are not exposed in the proxies for other Java classes that
may be involved in calling your EJBs (e.g., classes used for an entity
bean primary key). If you provide getter and setter methods for your
class variables, you'll be fine.
