Anyone know how to dynamically feed a newline into the textbox of a
Multiline edit control? i am dynamically feeind text into the textbox but
can't seem to insert a newline. i tried constructing a single string using
"~n" and "~r" but that doesn't seem to work.

i should start at the beginning. i am looking for a way to have the
contents of an editable textbox stored in a .txt file and subsequently be
read from that .txt file to be inserted into a textbox again for future
editing and saving. using a multiline edit allows me to hold and edit
large amounts of text that can easily be saved in a .txt file but the
formatting is lost when that .txt is read and pumped into the multiline
edit control again. so i am reading the file line by line and trying to
find a way to insert the text into the multiline edit control line by line.
otherwise all the text gets mashed into one continuous line in the
multiline edit.

any ideas?

Try the following:

mle_1.text = mle_1.text + "~r~n" + "a new string"
