Hi. I'm going to build an application to manage flowchart diagrams.
How to build such application, what objects to use? I cannot use any form of
datawindow.
This application would be similiar to Visio, but written in PB.

Thanks in advance.
Arek

Why reinvent the wheel? Visio is an automated server.

Do you want your application to create the flowcharts? If so, then you
almost have to use datawindows. Otherwise, the sheer number of controls on
your window will bring your system to its knees. Why can't you use a
datawindow?

I can't use them because that is project rules. I'd like to use them but the
designer said that
I cannot use it.

My app is intended to give the user posibility to create a diagram, link the
nodes and then write
it in xml format. I don't know how to build such Visio-like program.

However if you have any ideas how to do it simple using datawindows maybe I
could persuade
the designer to use dw. ;-)

The dw syntax tool (File > New... Tools tab) shows you the syntax for
creating objects and modifying any property you desire. Check out
www.dw-extreme.com for an example of some of the stuff that's possible.
(There's also a column by dw-extreme that will show you how easy it is to
link a line with an object.) Your designer must have some pretty harsh
requirements if they keep you from using the right tool for the job. I hope
this "no datawindow" thing is just for this piece, and not for the entire
app.....
