I have an application with COM objects built using PB 7.0. These COM
objects are now registered with MTS on a Windows NT server. We would like
to be able to setup these same COM objects using component services on a
Windows 2000 box.

When we try to export the application in component services we receive a
warning that "One or more components in this application were imported. As
a result, those components do not contain interface and method information.
Exporting this application may create an application that is unusable on
other machines."

I'm not sure why we are receiving this message. This is a new server with
a new install of Windows 2000. We import all the registry files, create a
new application, import components that are already registered, set the
transaction support level and then when we try and export the file we
receive the warning message.

Any help that I can get would be really appreciated.

TIA
Valerie Daigle

It sounds as though you first registered your COM object using regsvr32,
then imported to COM+ (Component Services). Remove your component from
COM+, then unregister your object using "regsvr32 your.dll -u". Then, go
com to COM+ and add a new component, but make sure you choose the "Install
new component(s)" option.
