Hellos,

There are some users here that can´t use Powerbuilder 7 correctly

Steps:

File > NEW

So, the users can choose: Start Wizard, DataWindow, Object, Database,
Project and Tool.

When the user choose any option inside the "Start Wizard" and the
"Datawindow", the system close the "New" window but don´t do nothing, no
errors, no actions.

The about screen don´t show too.

The problem don´t affect the Object, Database, Project and Tool.

PowerBuilder 7.
Windows 2000 SP2

Any information will be so helpful.

Make sure you are running PB702 or 703.
Delete the registry key
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Sybase\Powerbuilder\7.0\Layout\Default]
PB will rebuild it automatically.

Terry,

The user don´t know the exactly version, but it´s 7.xx.
I found the registry that you show, and I delete all the keys, and don´t
work, so I delete the "default" and....same thing.

The Registry:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Sybase\PowerBuilder\7.0\Layout]

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Sybase\PowerBuilder\7.0\Layout\Default]
"Database"="PBTV{0 DSOB{0 }28 PBTR{0 PBTV{0 PBTB{0 DST{0 }DSE{0 }0 }57
DSOD{1 0}43 }73 PBTB{0 DSC{0 }DSI{0 33 0}DWPR{0 }DSA{0 }2 }27 }72 }"
"Library"="PBTV{0 _PL_TVBV_{1 [file://?type=Computer]
[pbl:///F|/APPS/APPSWIN/Sybase/PowerBuilder%207.0/Code%
20Examples/Example%20App/pbexamfe.pbl?object=examples&type=Application]}
36 _PL_LVBV_{1 [file:///F|/?type=Drive][][0,tna,][135,105,105,45,550,]}64
}"

Mmmmmmmmmmm, I can´t find the path:

F:\APPS\APPSWIN\Sybase\PowerBuilder 7.0\Code Examples\Example App\*

This is necessary to solve the actual problem?

This is going to sound far fetched, but the window that is opening, but
failing, does it have a bitmap on it? And does it work OK in NT? (I know
you said 2000 but it's wortha try). If it has a bitmap, remove it. Does
this solve the problem? I ran into this with my application on W2K and
needed to reduce the color depth of certain large bitmaps (on a Wizard
screen) otherwise it would just dissapear with no warning. You can also
experiment with teh map 3d colors option. Let me knwo if this works, I am
curious if you have the same problem I did.

Joe, We do not have NT here to test PB 7.
Bitmap? where? sorry but I don´t know a lot of english to understand all
that you´re saying...but I am trying :)
I don´t use PB, I am from Support, and the, i.e., the DataWindow, when I
select some "component" the component doesn´t open, no errors, no nothing.
Do I help? Ask me more...if I can help, certally I shall :)
