Hi All,

I've a Window with a multiline edit control on it. When I preview the
windows then I'm able to copy, paste and cut by the common short cut
keys CTRL+C, CTRL+V and CTRL+X. But when I run the complete
Application and open this Window then it does not respod to these
shortcut keys. I still able to copy, paste and cut with pop-up menu
which appears after right mouse click on the multiline edit.

I've also tried to define new event by capturing the pbm_copy, pbm_cut
and pbm_paste events but the control doesn't respond to these events.

Anybody who know how to solve this?

thanks in advance.

Mosfet

Is there any chance you have DISABLED menu items EDIT>COPY, EDIT>PASTE,
EDIT>CUT
with corresponding shortcuts in your application?
If YES, please ENABLE items or remove shortcuts.

Hi thnx for your response. The MLE is placed on a response window
which has no menu associated with it.

Is there a way nog associate the short cuts with the MLE itself?

thnx

You just answered your own question. Since your window is of type response
it doesn't allow anything else to have focus. So, your shortcuts (probably
assiged to menu items) won't work since these commands don't belong to the
response window but to the menu.

If you want to "catch" the shortcuts, map map pbm_keydown (window) to a user
defined event in your window. Use KeyDown() to determine which keys the user
has pressed. Because the "key" argument of the event can only contain one
value and that's the last key that was pressed.

Example:
If KeyDown(KeyEnter!) AND KeyDown(KeyAlt!) THEN
...
END IF

Davy
