Hello to you,
I'm newbie using pb8

My background is from vb

I wanna to create application in pb, with behaviour likes below :
- create a window named "w_customer" contains :
datawindow, style=grid named "dw_customer_g" (the column set to read-only)
comnand button likes [ADD] [EDIT] [DELETE]

When [ADD] clicked :
another window displayed, maybe named "w_customer1" contains :

Name : [ ]
Add : [ ]
City : [ ]

[SAVE] [CANCEL]

If [Save] Clicked then issuing UPDATE and close the window, and the
"w_customer" focused.

From the above description, I Think you can understand what I want.
How to do it ?

Please tell me, how may datawindow should I create ?
What dw functions should used in the above buttons ?

I think it's the blueprint to creating an application and always be asked
for newbie.
I'd 2 Books besides me, "Sybase PB Book" and "PB6 Unleashed"

NB. SORRY FOR THE CROSS NEWSGROUP
Please advice
Steven

Rather than continually apologising for cross-posting, can you just avoid
doing it? I'll post a reply in the general group.

Steven,
I am not sure what PB8 offers for tutorials, but I know earlier versions of
PB such as 5 and 6, cover almost exactly what you are asking about. A
couple of hours invested in a tutorial will explain things much better than
we could do via emails. Good luck.
