Does anybody know about restrictions for maximum size (number of
characters) of the table and field names in Sybase SQL Server?
Thanks a lot,
Dmitriy

The ASE 11.5 TSQL Guide has a subsection on "Naming Conventions" from
page 1-5 to 1-11.
It is listed in the index as "Naming, conventions 1-5 .. 1-11"

For regular tables and for field names the limit is 30 bytes, for temp
table names the limit is 13 bytes (as ASE provides a 17-byte extension).
