After the unloading process, the server reboots and begins to install
ASE and it's components. During this process ASE prompts me to enter
information stored on the SSAM Certificate. Immediately following this
process, an error displays stating that "sybcpnin.exe - Unable to locate
DLL". It also shows "The dynamic link library CLUSAPI.dll could not be
found in the specified path. Not really sure what to do now. Please
advise

I see this same problem, and have been unable to pinpoint the cause.

Anyone have an answer?

                     Hi XXXXXXX,
Here's the instructions on how to uninstall ASE 12 from NT.
Once you've got it removed, but before you reinstal it. Change the PC date to
2/20/2000 and then reboot then go through w/ the install.
Give me a call when you're through w/ that part and we'll see what's going on.

                     ********************************************
                     Uninstalling Adaptive Server 12.0
To remove an existing Adaptive Server (but not other Sybase products):
Shut down Adaptive Server.Shut down, then restart the Windows NT server,
which releases the DLLs being used by Adaptive Server products.
From the Windows task bar, select Start | Run, then enter regedt32 for Windows
NT, or regedit for Windows 95/98 to start the registry utility.
                     Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Sybase\Server.
In the \Server directory, delete the following keys related to the Adaptive Server
                     that you want to remove:
                     \\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SYBASE\Server\<server_name>
                     \\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SYBASE\Server\<server_name>_BS
                     \\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SYBASE\Server\<server_name>_HS
                     \\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SYBASE\Server\<server_name>_MS
                     For the following Registry key:
                     \\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session
                     Manager\Environment
                     make these changes:
Delete the settings for the Sybase variables DSLISTEN, DSQUERY, and
SYBASE, and other Sybase-specific environment variables.
Remove all references to the earlier installation directories in the PATH.
                     In the following Registry key:
                     \\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services
                     remove these references:
                     SYBSOL_<server_name>
                     SYBXPS_<server_name>_XP
                     SYBBCK_<server_name>_BS
                     SYBMON_<server_name>_MS
                     SYBHIS_<server_name>_HS
Restart your computer to update the changes to the Registry.
If you get an Event Viewer warning upon restarting the computer, you may not
have cleaned up all services. See the Event Viewer Application log for details.
Use the Service Control Panel to verify that the Adaptive Server service has
been removed. If it has not, check the Registry for the same keys for the
CurrentControlSet in ControlSet001 and ControlSet003. Make sure you have
deleted the specified entries from the Registry.
Delete the master device and system procedure device files from the Sybase
installation directory (the default is \sybase\data).
Reinstall Adaptive Server as a new server.

The installation program does not delete shared dynamic link libraries (DLLs),
such as libunic.dll, mchelp.dll, and mclib.dll, from the Windows system directory.
                     Remove these files manually.
If you do an overlay install, the installation program does not allow you to create
servers that already exist in CurrentControlSet. If you want to use the same
name, you must also clear the server names from the Registry and then restart
                     the computer.

He's done multiple resinstalls of ASE 12 w/ out removing the previous
installation. I'm emailing him the instructions on how to uninstall ASE 12 (from
the installation guide). We'll go from there.
