I've been getting terminal errors using ASE 12 on a Dell 2x700 server w/
1 gig RAM. Max Online Engines = 2, Max Memory = approx 600+ megs, no
other apps are on this server. NT max virtual memory is 2 gigs. Dsync
is off.

It doesn't take long to generate one these. No activity seems to cause
this more than any other.

The errors written to the event log look like this: (in this order)

1: SQL Server system exception (0xc0000005) generated by a storage
access violation.

30004: end of stack trace, kernel service process: kpid 1376277

50030: engine 1, os pid 484 exited
3439: Could not replace infected engine
50002: ueshutdown: exiting
50079: Abnormal exit detected - SQL Server process level execution
bindings will be cleared on startup.

Any help is MUCH appreciated.

Sal

Hi Sal,

I've nearly the same error on my

Adaptive Server Enterprise/12.0.0.1/P/SWR 9271 ESD 3/NT (IX86)/OS
4.0/1629/32bit/OPT/Wed Sep 06 14:53:20 2000

which is running on a Windows NT Server 4.0 (SP6) with two engines:

01:00000:00000:2000/12/14 12:12:21.20 kernel engine 1, os pid 452 exited
01:00000:00000:2000/12/14 12:12:21.20 kernel Could not replace infected
engine.
01:00000:00000:2000/12/14 12:12:21.21 kernel ueshutdown: exiting
01:00000:00000:2000/12/14 12:12:21.21 kernel Abnormal exit detected - SQL
Server process level execution bindings will be cleared on startup.

Do you have a solution in the meantime?

Thanks.

Sal...

Did you call Sybase? I am getting the same errors. Each time I get the
errors, Sybase automatically shutsdown.

I am running ASE 11.5.1.1...
