G'Day,

I have the following error appearing in the ms.log error log file.....

Sybase, Inc. 6475 Christie Avenue, Emeryville, CA 94608, USA

Jun 19 21:31:03 2000: DB-Library Version:
Jun 19 21:31:03 2000: Sybase DB-Library/11.1.1/P-EBF7729/PC
Intel/1/OPT/Thu Dec 18 00:53:01 1997

Jun 19 21:31:03 2000: Open Server Version:
Jun 19 21:31:03 2000: Sybase Server-Library/11.1.1/P-EBF7729/PC
Intel/1/OPT/Thu Dec 18 00:58:52 1997

Jun 19 21:31:04 2000: Msg 4002, Level 14, State 1
Jun 19 21:31:04 2000: Login failed.
Jun 19 21:31:04 2000: Login incorrect.
Jun 19 21:31:04 2000: Fatal error -1 detected
==================================================================================

It has previously worked.
I have patched the ASE to ebf 9019 from ebf 8702 to try and fix the
problem, recreated the Monitor server, but no luck.

Has any seen this type of error before with the monitor server??

Thanks in advance

If this is in the mon server's start up log, I would check that
it has the correct sa password. Its stored in the script since
its needed by mon server. Has the sa password been changed in
the server recently and the mon server script overlooked?

Thanks

The mon server RUN script. The next thing to check would be an ebf
for mon server itself. It may require one if the ebf for the data
server has changed the way it can access the server's memory (I'm
not sure how this works on NT).

I have since found out from sybase that the mon_user login account was
accidently deleted. The resolution was to either specify an sa account in the
NT registry or in the RUN script as Anthony suggested, or re-create the
mon_user login account (with the password set to 'mon_user').
