As a former Sybase employee, each year it breaks my heart to see the
new numbers released. According to the Garten group, Sybase market
share is 2.6%

This is so sad.

The answer is not rocket science. Good product, good support and a
competitive price.

And do not release the product until it is ready. IE Purchase a real
testing tool build test cases and complete regression test the product
so you do not release non function product as Sybase is infamous for
doing.

We lost the heads up competition. But you could win customer back a
few at a time when they realized, we are dedicated to releasing only
quality product.

And put the QA VP job on the line every release cycle.

That is how I would win back market share if it were up to me....

Very Respectfully Submitted,

John Wayne Martin
