Hi.

I'm running SQL Anywhere ver. 5.5.02 #1495 on an Windows 2000 pro machine.
How and what should i do to make the client run as an application in the
background? Right now i can only make the client connect to the server if i
allow it to run interactive with desktop....

You should first get the client to a version that is known to work on
Win2k -- see http://www.sybase.com/detail?id=1023009. It can be downloaded
from http:\\downloads.sybase.com. Make sure you set the Timeframe to ALL.

At the top, right side of the page it will ask for the time frame in a drop
down box. The default is 6 Months.

microsoft, wich unables me to start my application Dalet wich uses the sql
anywhere 5.5.05.... It's no problem to run the program Dalet if i still
allow the client to run interactive with desktop....

Any sugestions?

We need some particulars. What exactly is the problem you are trying to
solve?
Is it that you are unable to connect to the database?
Is it that you cannot run the dbclient.exe as a service that does not
interact with the desktop?
Is it that you cannot connect to the database if the dbclient service is not
allowed to interact with the desktop?
Are you using IIS by chance?
What error messages are you seeing (start the client with -Z and -o <file>
when not interacting with the desktop to log all messages to a file)?

I want to run my program "Dalet" with the client not running interactive
with desktop. Dalet is of course running interactive with desktop...

No, but Dalet won't connect to the database. see:

What is that?

Where should the log file appear?
