I seem to recall getting that error when using an older version of ASA 8.0.2
for CE (pre-build 4229). I believe the -op flags were added to the DSN
around that time, though I'd have to look back to see if the flags caused a
problem with connection or syncronization. Try removing them and see if you
still get the error.

-Chad

What version of ASA are you using? For the MobiLink integration Pocket
PowerBuilder requires build 4229 or later. The -op flag is an internal
switch that is used for our dbmlsync integration.

Error 255 usually indicates that you are not using a supported version of
SQL Anywhere (MobiLink in particular).

Oguz,

Are you getting any messages in the server MobiLink window?

-Marty

P.S. True, my book is not Sybase specific. It is an overview of mobile and
wireless computing in general (although it does mention Sybase, and other
products throughout)

Hi,

I encountered the same problem too. I've tried both 4251 and 4299 and the
symptom is the same as what you've got. I've got this working on the desktop
W2K but failed on PPC 2002.

BTW, I have given up the PPB/Mobilink integration (since I've got too much
problem before) and I'm just using a "run" command to start up a mobilink
sync. session.

Rgds,
Jonathan Chan

This problem persists in ASA8.0.2Build4308 too.

I furthered narrowed down that this problem is only when I added the -n
or -u options with the dbmlsync command.

I've logged a tech. support case for this just now.

To work around this problem, simply make sure that you have only one
publication in the remote db, and only one user subscribing the publication,
and get rid of all the -n and -u options.
