Hi,

After installing (asa9_dev.exe – 118.915KB) in a WinXP
Prof notebook:

#1. When I go to Sybase Central, I can’t see its menus,
only its main screen. After some research, I found an
intermediate solution: I decrease Display Hardware
Acceleration to nothing. Now I can see some menu options,
not all. Has anyone found this problem?

#2. Readme.txt file says “To access this book from the
online help, choose Start-->Programs-->SQL Anywhere
9-->Online books (English) and click the 'Contents' tab.”,
but there isn’t Online books option in
Start-->Programs-->SQL Anywhere 9. And more: I can find only
errata_sas.txt and errata_ulcs.txt inside C:\Arquivos de
programas\Sybase\SQL Anywhere 9\docs folder. Is it possible
to install SQL Anywhere Studio 9 Developer Edition in
Portuguese version of WinXP? Is there any solution or
special trick?

Regards,

Baccarin.

As to 'tricks' temporarily set you system up as one of the supported
regions [French, germane and English only] and reinstall. That should
cause it to pick up one of the 3 for you [whichever is most appropriate].

The Online books entry for English Windows will have this
for a short cut

C:\WINDOWS\KeyHH.exe -dbma dbmaen9.chm::/HELP_TOP_INDEX.htm

NOTE: the 'en' in the HTMLHelp file name for dbmaen9.chm.
=====

As you surmised there is no dbmaPT9.chm file provided so
you will want to resort to one of the following instead

dbmafr9.chm
or
dbmade9.chm
[found in the "%ASANY9%\docs" folder]

assuming any of those makes sense.

As to your display woes go, it may be something to do with
the JVM and your system display hardware & drivers , but there
too that is likely due to an l10n misalignment [as well].

There too we do not provide a Portuguese SCView language
library; only those for French German and English.
