I've developed a little data entry program on an iPAC Pocket
PC
using Pocket PowerBuilder Beta 2C. The data entered into a
DataWindow are saved as a text file using FileOpen and
FileWrite functions. The text file can be opened and read
without any problem in Pocket PB. But when I try to open and
read the same file in PB7 on a desktop PC I'm having
problems.
The file can be successfully opened, but when try to read
the
file the FileRead function returns rubbish like "ÿþ2". I
don't
know what goes wrong? I'm doubting If there is any
compatibility problem between the set of file functions in
Pocket PB and PB7. FYI: Notepad.exe can open the file and
the
content is exactly what I want. I also tried PB9 evaluation
copy but the same problem exists.

Any advice will be very much appreciated. I'm using PB7.0.3
Build 10135 and going to upgrade it to PB9.

Regards,

Shimin Cai
