I am creating a dynamic data object (using select statement) to use in
dynamic pipeline. Syntax generated by SyntaxFromSQl() function does not pick
up the user defined data type from the column.

My question is how do I know the user defined data type for a column?

Thanks,

Vaishali

Does it not pick up the native data type ? For example, let's say that you
have a user defined data type called udt_shortdescription mapped to
varchar(50). I haven't done this in a while, so don't remember the
specifics, but I would expect that SyntaxFromSQL would pick up the
varchar(50).

What version of PB are you using ?

Thanks,

Sanjiv.

I am working on PB7. As per your ex, It picks up as char(50) but my question
is there a way to know the mapped user defined datatype(ex.
udt_shortdescription) through PB script?

Thanks,
Vaishali
