When I use the AdsConvertTable method and try to convert either a current
DBF or ADT file to a DBF file it kills all data in any field that has a
field name beginning with an '_' underscore. It then renames these fields
to such things as FIELD1, FIELD2, etc. Any idea why this might be
happening? I can create a DBF file and name a field '_test', and I have no
error. It seems to be only on a convert to DBF.

Anything going to an ADT file does not have this problem...

Any suggestions?

Kenneth,

FoxPro 2.6 will not allow you to add a field named: "_fieldX". This could be
the issue. ARC will
allow this naming scheme on DBFs and ADTs.

Must you name your fields beginning with an underscore?

Unfortunatly the data given to me has the fields named with the '_'
underscore.

Even though FoxPro 2.6 will not alow it, but Advantage's ARC will, why won't
the Delphi Advantage ADSConvertTable method work?

Check your newsgroup reader's settings - some delete threads from your
computer after a certain number of days.
