Hi,

Is it possible to ommit the PowerTip implementation on a tab control and
still show a ToolTip?

The ToolTips I have implemented on most of my controls and datawindows have
a different background color than the PowerTip implementation on the PB
Tabcontrol.

Therefore I would like to show my own tooltips rather than the PowerTip. Two
questions:
1) Does anybody know how to do this?
2) or how can I find out when the mouse pointer is over one of the tab
pages (in the tab bar) ?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Arnoud

Well, there are 2 paths to explore.

1) Just register your own ToolTip control with PB's Tab Control by using
TCM_SETTOOLTIPS message
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/en-us/shellcc/platform/commctls/tab/messages/tcm_settooltips.asp
and see if your ToolTip control will pick up .powertiptext from the tab page
on it's own (which I doubt, but you never know...)

2) If 1 does not work, then do some hittesting - map pbm_nchittest on your
tab control and in it send
TCM_HITTEST Message to itself.
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/en-us/shellcc/platform/commctls/tab/messages/tcm_hittest.asp
