I am designing an application with Pocket PB, this needs to
connect to a standard PB8 application running on a server (
The Pocket PC has WiFi and runs TCPIP). I need to call NVO's
in the PB8 App ( ala Distributed PB in V6 - V7 )
Appart from moving everything to VB.Net and using remoting,
does anyone know of a way of doing this. Mobilink is NOT an
option as the comms need to be realtime.

Email me at keith@resourceit.com.au

No Problem, except what is the cost of a runtime licence of
EAS? - I think a fair bit more than the old Distributed PB
model. When an application is for consumer high volume, low
cost the option of expensive run time licences does not lend
itself to a viable solution!. Pitty Sybase removed
distibuted PB support in PB8 - I know of several large
commercial applications that being redevloped from PB to
VB.net !.
I think Sybase have made a real strategic mistake.

Look at re writing it in Java and accessing as a web service.

EAServer has three versions. Small Business, Advance Edition and Enterprise.
Price varies between OS and version.

I didn't realize VB.NET was free?
