I have Backup Exec 9.0 and want to do an automatic backup
but with the Sybase running it will not backup the database
file or log file. Is there a command that I can stop the
Sybase and then restart Sybase after the backup is complete.
Backup Exec has a place for a pre and post job commands.
Thanks
Jim McGrath

Please, always post the version and BUILD number of ASA that you are
using (e.g. use the command "dbeng9 -v" for ASA 9.0)

I have no experience with Backup Exec. If by "Sybase" you mean "ASA",
then take a look at the documentation of the "dbstop" and "dbsrv9"
commands in the online docs.

Hope this helps,
